Donna Pierce-Clark, Passionate Painter of Nature, Color, and Light!
Celebrating God's Glory, one brushstroke at a time.
Donna lives in Springfield, Ohio with her joyful, fun-loving, and supportive husband of 39 years and 9 months, a medical technology supervisor. Cheerfully by their sides is the family pet, a bossy but much loved little Lhasa Apso of 10 years. Donna loves her family. She and Dennis are blessed with two sons, Matthew and Brian Clark. Matthew is married to Julie. They have 3 adorable children: Maddie, Braden, and Kinslee. Brian is engaged to Daisy and Daisy is blessed with little Hayley. All members of the family find their portraiture in numerous works Donna creates.
About her work, Donna says, "I love working wet-into-wet with watercolor as well as a long day in the sun with acrylics or watersoluable oils." Her paintings are a visual depiction of her spirit and reflect her bold and colorful approach to painting. During her childhood in Cincinnati, Ohio, Donna loved exploring hills, meadows, and wooded areas in the southernmost regions of her home state. Visits along the Atlantic seascoast, created a deep appreciation for the strength and serenity of these waterways and inspired paintings of rocky cliffs, waterfalls, serene beach scenes, and lighthouses. Recent trips to the southwestern states of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, and many southeastern states (Florida, Carolinas, Georgia, etc.) have added more inspiration for paintings of her love of rock formations, colors, and bodies of water. Her watercolors on yupo express fluid, loose brushwork; while her plein air paintings in oils exhibit a more controlled, but impressionistic feeling. Donna recently won BEST OF SHOW at the 2005 Winter competition with the Western Ohio Watercolor Society (WOWS). Yearly, her expressive and colorful works continue to receive recognition as she is juried into both local and national level competitions. Her most recent NATIONAL RECOGNITION: 2 of her ABSTRACT WATERCOLORS ON YUPO now being shown in the 2010 National Aquarius Watercolor Exhibition to be held in Colorado this fall.
Donna enjoys giving water-media demonstrations and workshops. To see part of a recent demonstration and read about her process of presentation, please click here
A recent recognition she received was from www.art4god.com. She placed in the top 200 paintings submitted and you can see that HERE. Scroll a few rows down to see the painting that was recognized.
Donna is a member of the OHIO PLEINAIR SOCIETY, and paints on location as time will allow.
Western Ohio Watercolor Society (WOWS) Donna enjoys active membership status which means she exhibits once or twice yearly with this amazing group of people! Here she is at the 2010 WOWS WINTER SHOW, where she received FIRST PLACE IN TRANSPARENT WATERCOLOR.
I've been a member of WOWS for over 20 years, and last night was the most pleasant Reception I have ever attended for this group. Everyone was just so warm and friendly. It was held in the Dayton Painters and Sculptors Gallery at 48 High Street in Dayton, Ohio. Many, many sweet people from the Springfield-Dayton area were in attendance. Some of my best friends also received awards. I am blessed to know them! The show continues through December, 2010.

COLLECTOR COMMENTS:
Good morning Donna,
I just viewed the class demo on your website. I very much enjoy viewing your paintings. Can only say WOW!!! I am so excited about taking your classes...I am becoming comfortable there. I think I can now gain the confidence that I have lacked. Thanks to you. Julia (a student at Hayner, 2010)
Hi Donna,
I purchased one of your Lakeside Stone Collection paintings. Mine is the second one shown on your website. I still love it today as much as I loved it when I first saw it. I have very wonderful memories of lakeside with my family and this painting was done out front of our cottages on the lakefront. It puts a smile on my face every morning when I walk past it. Thank you for your talents..... Libby (a collector)
