SUN DRENCHED
by on 4/29/2009 10:41:13 AM

I'm beginning a new series of the Marblehead peninsula area of Ohio.   SUN DRENCHED is of the Marblehead Lighthouse on a beautiful sunny day.   As I write this, it is rainy and I am no where near the lighthouse (in fact, I'm in the basement studio)!   BUT!  I am SO looking forward to going up there in July for a paintout and a fun B&B experience at Lakeside.

Hayner class was just so much fun last night.   Whenever 4 women get together, there are always fun discussions and beautiful paintings happening.   CLICK HERE to see what my students are up to!

Please leave your comments, ................I love to hear from you!!!

Lovely. The ocean is the lakes feed my soul. To look out at paintings of them is satisfying, to stand beside them is awewome.
What a peaceful sight.

Donna! This is beautiful! It was exactly what I needed to lift my spirit and to remind me that the sun always shines again. Thank you for that glorious reminder. God bless you and your work. Jenna =)

I hesitated to say what my first impressions were when I saw your painting because I don't want to sound like someone who spiritualizes everything, because I do enjoy your talent and the beauty of your work; but my first impression was that I saw Jesus as our Rock in the rocks, as our Light in the lighthouse, and as the Water of Life in the lake in the background. There is also a song that comes to mind; it is a secular song but to me it has spiritual significance: "I can see clearly now, the rain is gone. I can see all obstacles in my way. I can see clearly now, the rain is gone. It's gonna be a bright, bright, sunshiney day." Your painting says that to me when I look at the clear, bright, blue sky.

I love your work, Donna Marie. I will always be a fan. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!
