In the spring of 2007, waves lapped at the rocky pathway as Dennis and I walked toward the lighthouse on the far eastern side of Marblehead penninsula of Lake Erie. I always associated childhood memories of my father with this area of Ohio, water, lighthouses, and waves. He and I shared a love for this jewel of nature. Little did I know that just a few months later, I would lose him. Beyond the Rocks, Marblehead Light, an acrylic on 5x7 Ampersand panel, is dedicated to him, God rest his soul.

The other day when watching Jerry Savelle on TV, the Lord gave me a new reason for loving paths. He was sharing a revelation the Lord gave him from the movie title, "A River Runs Through". He talked about the time the Israelites were faced with the Red Sea when the Egyptians were bearing down on them. They were terrified, not realizing that God had prepared a path for them through the waters. Jerry's revelation was no matter what circumstances we are going through, there is a path that runs through it that will lead us to deliverance. That path is Jesus. He is our path through every rocky situation.
In your painting, I see the rocks on the side of the path as "rocky circumstances", but the green on the right side of the painting symbolizing LIFE; and at the end of the path is our Lighthouse, the Lord Jesus. Praise the Lord!
I love everything about this painting, but especially the "green" along side the path. It stood out to me and brought life to the rest of the painting.
Well done, Donna Marie.
