Donna demos in her beloved Cincy!
by on 8/11/2009 8:45:34 PM

This painting is offered on Ebay with bids starting at less then half of this website price (website price is HERE) and was done in Cincinnati August 5, 2009 for a demonstration and workshop I did at The Greater Cincinnati Watercolor Society Having grown up down there, I was overjoyed to present this demo using Golden OPEN acrylics to a splendid group of people! I don't know who was more amazed.......myself or the audience. Golden Open acrylic is just an amazing product!!!   As you scroll down on this blog today, you will see I have added a short youtube video from Golden Acrylics so you can see just how long this paint will stay workable on the palette.   AWESOME!!!

Here are some fun photos from the demo:

I'm wearing my beloved Ohio Plein Air Apron.
This group has taught me so much!! Thanks, OPAS!
Behind me is one of the nice watercolors I was privileged to critique.

This is the basic set-up with my new Apple Macbook Pro laptop that gives me an "almost there on location" feeling as I paint (but not quite, as there is nothing like plein air painting). And also in the photo above is my new glass round palette which keeps me focused!! I don't have to "think" about which colors to mix. Thanks to Stephen Quiller! Aren't those acrylic colors stunning (and they are SO wet and juicy)!!!

Beyond me, you can see some of the sweethearts I was privileged to meet in Cincy.
Just a lovely bunch of people!

As I got more and more "in the zone," focused only on the painting, several people left the audience to watch from behind.

WOW----8 DAYS OPEN ON THE PALETTE!!!   This video is only a minute long and shows how long this paint is workable on the palette.

Thanks GCWS!!! I had a great time!!!

I recently received an honor from www.art4god.com and you can see the painting that won the award HEREWhile you are there, please leave a comment. Thanks!

Dennis and I had such a grand time at Lakeside, I had to post at least one more photo of the two of us. I managed to complete three paintings I was happy with. Two of them sold. The one painting left over now adorns our living room at the moment, but, if accepted, will soon be on display in Columbus at the High Road Gallery with the Ohio Plein Air Society, (All Member Juried Show), September 2-25. The only one left is below:

How exciting for you and all those in attendance, Donna! What a fun opportunity. I'm very excited you got to do this.

The open acrylics do sound interesting.
