« Pomegranate Season is here | Main | CALIFORNIA COAST (saying goodbye to a dear friend) »
A SPLISHIN & A SPLASHIN!
by on 11/2/2009 3:38:54 PM

Remember that tune?
"I was a splishin and a splashin......."
(anyone remember the rest of this song?)

I bet you are saying............"Donna painted THAT????"
Well, there's A STORY BEHIND THE PAINTING!
There are certain things I don't do.
I don't do plumbing!

THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY
A very dear friend gave me a scrumptious recipe for BRAN MUFFINS.   The recipe makes a huge amount of these delectably yummy raisin, flax-seed, good for you muffins.   After baking them, I put two bags full in the freezer.   And, I put a large bowl of them on the counter.   The family (and myself) munched all day on them.   I painted and munched and painted and munched...............then, well...........need I say more?

I had to use the plunger ALL BY MYSELF.
Remember?   I said, I don't do plumbing?
Seriously!
This was some kind of milestone for me.
I hate spiders (Dennis and Brian kill em for me).
I hate plunging (Dennis and Brian do that).
But, this was an emergency!
I did it all by myself, ..............so............I had to paint this thing!
(as always, I love to read your comments, and THIS time, I bet others will enjoy what you have to say, too--------just please, keep it clean!)

What a funny, stinker of a story! My imagination has gone wild! I will never look at a plunger quite the same again.

I like your updated bog...oops...I mean blog. Guess I was thinking
about your painting of the classic bathroom tool. I''ll have to mention
this painting when I am talking to the adult beginners watercolor class
about subjects suitable for painting. You could put the painting on a
card for a plumber. What would the message be?

Hi Donna- I must say I had a good laugh with the subject of your latest
painting. Now the question is where are you going to hang it--I mean
the painting. I loved the pictures of the Scioto Street Gallery!! Jane

Hi Donna,
Very funny story. I don't particularly care for plunging either...so I can relate. Fun painting.
Cheers, Lisa
