Pomegranate Parade --- or "Maybe they won't see me!"
by on 11/16/2009 3:41:10 PM

Do you ever feel like hiding?  The world can be so cruel sometimes.  And other times, you just want to be alone.  This painting, "MAYBE THEY WON'T SEE ME!" is a 6x6 inch oil on Ampersand panel.  I am enamored by this beautiful fruit, so I plan to do a few more paintings of them.  Stay tuned for the POMEGRANATE PARADE of paintings to come!   To purchase this little gem for $52, please CLICK HERE.   You, my dear reader, are the wind beneath my sails.   Thank you for your notes of encouragement.

My REPRODUCTIONS ON CANVAS and my NOTECARDS are available either directly by emailing me, or you can see them in Urbana at the Scioto Street Gallery.  To see them on the gallery blogsite, CLICK HERE. If interested in purchasing any of these cards, please send me an email.

I highly recommend the work of Brian Kliewer, another wonderful artist on the FASO team.

I like the use of light on the pomegranate. Did you notice that on the front of the pomegranate it looks like a person's reflection is in the "light" part?

I thought about your title, "Maybe They Won't See Me" and Matthew 5:14 came to mind: "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven." God never wants us to hide His beauty in us, but to allow it to shine in the midst of a dark world that He might get glory so men can be saved. I guess I am thinking this way because I am the type of person that hates to be noticed, to draw attention to myself. The title of your painting reminded me that a timid, shrinking spirit is not of God. I need to allow the Lord to change this part of my personality.
