"The Great Smokies, View From On High," another in my 52 for $52 series, was painted a few days after Dennis and I returned from our anniversary trip to the Smokies. We have been married for a sweet 38 years as of this December 29. This was the view from our cabin, which was situated high on the very top of a mountain in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We enjoyed the real wood fireplace, hot chocolate, movies, and feeding the raccoons! They came in a group of 4 hungry little critters who gently grasped with their little raccoon hands a Dorito out of Dennis's hand! I loved photographing them and watching them! Have a GREAT CHRISTMAS with your loved ones!
See you next week, Donna

Your description of your anniversary getaway reminds me of vacationing as a child with my family at Lost River State Park in West Virginia - log cabins, wood fireplaces, kerosene lanterns plus plenty of raccoons!
Great painting and adorable photo of Dennis and new friends!

Merry Christmas to you, too.
Your paintings are beautiful. You always use such soft colors that make you wish you were there to experience the beauty first hand, even in the snow...brrr.
I look forward to next weeks painting. That is quite a commitment to do one a week.

Thanks for doing that. From the looks of the comments above, it looks like this end is working just fine.

The painting has that soft, impressionistic, look that I like. I love the different shades of "smoky" blue that you used.
Very, very, nice.
