Navajo Reflections, 12 x 16," gouache on paper
Oh, my. This is big!
Stephen Quiller, 2010 Juror for the Aquarius National 2010 Watercolor Exhibition, has chosen TWO of my paintings for this exhibit: the one at left, "Navajo Reflections," and the one below, "Navajo Heat II."
Hosted by the Southern Colorado Watercolor Society, this exhibit is to be held at the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center in Pueblo, Colorado from August 14 through October 23, 2010. Reception is September 24, 2010, from 5- 7 pm.
Executed initially in watercolor on paper, with many subsequent layers of gouache, Navajo Reflections was a blast to paint! An equally exciting experience, Navajo Heat II (below), was done on yupo. As well, Navajo Heat II is framed without a mat. No mat! What freedom!!! I love this.

Freddie Burr, husband of one of my collectors, said when he saw that Navajo Heat II had been chosen,............... "DPC, go on with your bad self!"
Oh, my.
