Oh, did I have fun!!!
This one was so special to me. As I was painting this two things happened. First a young lady stopped by to visit and told me she was "disabled." God bless her, it was evident. She said she was in a car accident when she was 2. She was a pleasant person to visit with. Secondly, after she left, two little girls continued to climb on the rocks, periodically yelling up to their father, "Daddy, is this where the snake are?" He would answer, "No, you are fine where you are." They would collect stones and then bring them up to him. Being absorbed, I didn't noticed for a few minutes that they had left (after it got quiet, no more asking Daddy if it was safe). In the silence, I peered over the easel to where the father was sitting just a few minutes before. At the foot of the larger boulders, the two girls had left their treasure: a Stone Collection.
