It's pomegranate season in the USA. I love the rich reds, maroons, mauves, greens and yellows in this lovely fruit. Wikipedia has so much to tell us about them: myths and legends, health facts, growing suggestions and so much more, BUT, what I loved reading about was the use of the pomegranate in a painting by Botticelli, Madonna of the Pomegranate! (1487). So interesting and what a beautiful painting!
