Left to its own, watercolor on yupo can meander and wander all over the paper, drying into sometimes undesirable shapes, lines, etc. Taming this reaction and forming it into a "realistic" image has been one of my goals for years. At the same time, it has always been my desire to leave some of those swirling, loose qualities visible. That sometimes, leads to a luscious abstract quality with a zing of realism.
In this workshop, you will learn about the power behind all paintings: basic design, composition, and dynamic color combinations. You will learn how to “tame” this paper-paint reaction into either a recognizable image, create an abstract painting, or something in-between. The choice will be yours. Donna will show you how!
